WEST END THEATRE (COMEDY & DRAMA)

Original West End Theatre Posters (Comedy & Drama)

This category contains ORIGINAL posters for West End theatre productions of comedy and drama. London musicals are more likely to be listed in our Musical Theatre and Pantomime category. Whilst programmes and other ephemera from these productions are quite commonplace, the posters are a comparative rarity.  Unlike cinema posters, theatrical posters are produced in very small quantities, as the show usually plays in a localised venue for what is usually a very limited time span.  Theatre posters are produced in 3 main formats - the 'Playbill' (approx 20 x 12 or 20 x 13 inches), the 'double-crown' (30 x 20 inches) and the 'quad' (40 x 30 inches).  Double-crowns and quads are particularly rare.  Our collection of original theatre posters includes posters from the archive of a theatrical poster design company, including some original artwork.  All our posters are guaranteed original and were produced to advertise the original productions.  Scroll down for a selection from our stock.
