FORMAT: British quad (30 x 40 inches)
STARS: Eleanor Parker, Agnes Moorehead, Ellen Corby. DIRECTOR: John Cromwell
NOTES: A 19 year old girl is convicted of being an accomplice to an armed robbery and is sent to a state penitentiary. There she is subjected to a catalogue of harsh and cruel experiences which gradually turn her from a wide-eyed innocent to a hard-nosed con. Caged was the first of its kind and spawned a whole host of copycat films of the Cell Block H variety - all sporting the same stock characters. Caged, however, was a serious study of life in a woman's prison and the writer, Virginia Kellogg, actually spent time in prison researching the story. Perhaps the best of all movies about women in prison. Nominated for three Oscars (best actress, best supporting actress and best screenplay). The quad poster is very scarce.
CONDITION: Grade A-. Some paper loss at corners, 4 inch tear at top left edge. Folded, as issued.
