TITLE: ISLAND IN THE SUN
FORMAT: British Double-Crown (30 x 20 inches)
STARS: James Mason, Joan Fontaine, Dorothy Dandridge and Joan Collins. DIRECTOR: Robert Rossen.
NOTES: Set on a fictitious island in the Caribbean during colonial British rule. It focuses on the life of a young charismatic and handsome black male with political aspirations. He finds himself confused on returning home when his romantic liaison with a white female tends to conflict with his political views. Apparently, an interracial screen kiss caused quite a commotion in the U.S. when the film was released. An interesting POSTER with a super portrait of the young Joan Collins and which features a film tie-in advertising the starlet's dress pattern in the magazine 'Modern Woman'.
CONDITION: Grade A. Slight misfold and very slight fold wear. Folded, as issued.
