TITLE: MOMENT OF DANGER
FORMAT: British Quad (30 x 40 inches)
STARS: Dorothy Dandridge, Trevor Howard, Edmund Purdom. DIRECTOR: Laslo Benedek.
NOTES: Country of origin POSTER for this thriller about two listless drifters on the track of a jewel thief who has wronged them. Moment of Danger was Dorothy Dandridge's last film and some say her character Gianna is the best she ever played, not excepting her role as CARMEN Jones. The U.S. title was 'Malaga'. A quad POSTER of breath-taking beauty with sublime shades and colours. It features a lovely portrait of Dorothy Dandridge, perhaps the best on any poster. Dandridge was one of the GREATEST black actresses of all time, best known for Carmen Jones, an all-black cast film. However, as a black actress, she found it difficult to find work in the Hollywood of the 1950s and she had to travel to England to make this, her last film. She descended into alcoholism and she died at only 42 from barbiturate poisoning. Had she been born 20 years later, Dorothy Dandridge would no doubt be one of the most well-known actresses in film history.
CONDITION: Grade A. Slightly frayed left edge. All else in very nice, clean, bright condition. Folded, as issued.
